Since the dawn of modern art,
individuals have marveled at the creations of talented artisans. For
centuries only the wealthiest individuals could even dream of owning
such masterpieces. As technology evolved attempts were made to
capture the beauty of the artists original work. Eventually
Lithographs and Serigraphs were invented and suddenly we could all
gaze at the beauty of our favorite artists creations in our own
home. But as good as they were these techniques did not truly
capture the artists original vision. Somewhat lacking in texture and
detail many yearned for something greater. Finally their prayers
were answered, the giclee process was created.
Giclee art displays a full color
spectrum and captures every fine distinction of the original
painting whether it was watercolor, oil, or acrylic. Exact
calculations of hue, value, and density direct the application of
ink. This method creates a combination of 512 chromatic changes
"that is over 3 million possible colors of highly saturated,
nontoxic ink." The artists color approval and input is essential for
creating the final custom setting for each edition. Fine stream of
ink with more than four million droplets per second are sprayed onto
archival art paper or canvas, and give the prints a higher apparent
resolution than lithographs.
The latest advancements in
the Giclee process are the works of a sophisticated fine art
production facility. These printing facilities have extended the
boundaries of current technology by customizing their equipment,
designing new programs, and offering protective coatings to ensure
quality standards for the collector. Many of these beautiful pieces
are hand embellished, adding even more to the hand painted
appearance. The Giclee has gained wide acceptance from artists such
as "David Hockney" and "Robert Rauschenberg" and major institutions
like the Chicago Art Institute and the L.A County Museum.
Giclee is an art collectors dream, delivering the appearance of hand
painted textures, incredible resolution, and an affordable price.
Finally you don't need a fortune to own a work of art that looks
like one. Joined together with some of the most talented Disney
artists in the world, a truly unique treasure has been created that
even Walt Disney himself would have been proud to own.
