Lladro borrowed its inspiration from time-honored Japanese culture to create this Hagoita in porcelain. Hagoita is a type of paddle traditionally given as a gift to newly born girls as a sign of good fortune and happiness. More specifically, the image on this particular Hagoita is based on the well-known work of kabuki Japanese theatre called Fuji Musume and represents the main character.
The exquisite beauty we have come to expect from Lladro can be seen in the decoration of the kimono and the hat, as well as in the floral details, one of the brand's signature elements. The wisteria flower, a symbol of love representing femininity, grows around a pine tree, which represents masulinity, clearly referring to the passage in Fuji Musume where the character dances around the flower-covered tree.
