Daum Crystal Artist Salvador Dali

You may know Salvador Dali for his eccentric mustache or his famous "Soft Clocks." But most people don't know is that he actually sculpted crystal figurines for Daum Crystal.

Dali was born in northern Spain of May 1904. He always painted and drew, but he started to study it in the Fine Arts School in Madrid in 1922. Once he finished those studies, Dali traveled to Paris, where he joined a group of painters and writers, who were part of a new art movement called Surrealism. His paintings very quickly made him the most prominent representative of Surrealism. After World War II, Dali moved to the United States, but moved back to Europe in 1948. Many of the central themes of his work included religion, history, and science. He died in 1989.
