Baccarat Crystal Artist Arik Levy

Baccarat Crystal Artist Arik Levy

Arik Levy born in Tel Aviv, Israel. His grandfather owned an electrical appliances shop and allowed him to build since he was eight-years old. He would build things, his grandfather would give harsh criticism, and Levy began to understand the basics of design.

Levy first began designing surf boards, wetsuits, and leashes because he is a passionate wind surfer. Selling the products allowed him to pay for his university education. He earned a degree in industrial design at the Art Center Europe in Switzerland.

In 2007, he signed on to do the "Intangible" collection for Baccarat Crystal, which included vases and drinking glasses. Then, he designed several models for the "Torch" lighting collection. Now he continues to create innovative lighting fixtures, including the chandelier, Tourbillon.

From there, he became well known for his photography, film, sculpture, painting, furniture, and lighting.

One of the most interesting facts about Levy is that he has dyslexia and a missing index finger. He takes pride in saying his products are made with only nine fingers.
